All the king’s horses and all the king’s men is a nursery rhyme line that features as part of any childhood. For Ralph Beckett, this is more of a reality. The classic-winning trainer has our new sovereign’s racing string at his Andover stables and has had horses from him in his care now since 2008. In parallel, he has saddled the Epsom Oaks winners, Look Here and Talent, to success in the fillies’ classic, and Simple Verse to win the Irish St Leger, making him a triple winner of racing’s most coveted prizes.
Beckett has also enjoyed success at Royal Ascot and numerous other high spots in the Flat racing calendar, both here and further afield. Ahead of King Charles’ first royal meeting as the family figure head, join Ralph for supper at the club hosted by Colin Cameron to preview the meeting and this summer’s racing thereafter, as well as consider the year’s talking points to date, and to celebrate the ten-year anniversary of Talent’s 2013 Oaks, a one-two on the day with runner up, Secret Gesture, also from his Sussex yard.
