Annual Army & Navy Club Dinner

Annual Army & Navy Club Dinner

Postponed – New date to be announced shortly

Last night the RMT Union announced a further set of dates for strike action, for 3rd, 5th and 7th of November. The 3rd November is to include the London Underground and Overground as well as trains. After consultation with the Chairman, Vice-Chairman and a selection of members booked in for the Club dinner the night before, regrettably, the decision has been taken to postpone until early 2023. It was clear from calls to the Club this morning and the consultations, that a significant number of members due to be in attendance were no longer going to be able to join as a result of the considerable travel disruption on both 2nd and 3rd November.

The Club’s Annual Dinner returned and members were invited to come together and join us for this special evening. We welcomed BBC Security Correspondent and bestselling author, Frank Gardner, as our Guest of Honour with a talk on current issues regarding international security.
As is customary, guests were welcomed with a Champagne and Canapé Reception on arrival, followed by a three-course dinner prepared by Chef Hart, accompanied by the finest wines and port from our cellar.

The Annual Club Dinner on Thursday 4th  November was sold out quickly. It was regrettable that we had so many on the waiting list who we could not accommodate. Frank Gardner’s talk on the Global Security Picture offered us an explanation of the world today minus any sugar coating. The return to naming tables after battles with an accompanying narrative was well received.” Frank Froud, Chair
