Trafalgar Dinner

As is tradition, we commemorate the Battle of Trafalgar here at the Army and Navy Club by hosting a dinner in our Pall Mall Room. Members of The Rag are invited to join us for a welcome drinks reception in the Drawing Room followed by a three-course dinner surrounded by Ballin’s Battle of Trafalgar Painting series.
We are delighted to announce that this year our guest of honor will be Phil Craig, acclaimed historian and author whose book “Trafalgar: the men, the battle, the storm” was described by Saul David as “Excellent, comprehensively researched, vividly written and judiciously argued”. As David wrote in his Daily Telegraph review, the book included “wonderfully detailed pen portraits; much new material from French and Spanish sources gives a rounded picture”. The text, nominated for the Mountbatten Maritime Prize, was, David concluded, “compelling”.
As well as being a best-selling author (and former Royal Air Force cadet pilot) Craig, who studied history at Cambridge, is an award-winning film maker and producer. Among many career projects in 2015, he oversaw the ANZAC centenary project for the Australian national broadcaster, ABC.
