OLD vs NEW WORLD

Europe, and France in particular, is the birthplace of most so-called ‘international’ grape varieties. However, many of these grapes were brought outside of Europe to the new continents and found new homes in New Zealand, Argentina and South Africa. At this tasting you will be able to taste and compare the wines made with the same grapes, but in different parts of the world. You will also be able to see how the style of a wine can change depending on the climate and approach. Our friends at Davy’s Wine Merchants will be on hand to guide you through the tasting.

LESSER-KNOWN GRAPES

There are hundreds of various grape varieties around the world, and the majority of them are native to one particular country or even a single region. Some are enjoying their fame around the globe, while otherwise are mainly grown and consumed locally. You are likely to be very familiar with Chardonnay, Merlot, Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc, and likely have tried Riesling, Shiraz and Chenin Blanc before but, today, you can taste something new and something different. Maybe you will find your new favourite! Our friends at Davy’s Wine Merchants will be on hand to guide you through the tasting.
