The Rag Bridge Circle Launch
Friday 29th May | 18.30 – 22.00 | Marlborough Suite | £20.00
On Friday 29th May, we are delighted to invite you to the launch of The Rag’s new Bridge Circle, an evening designed to bring together members who enjoy good conversation, light competition, and the spirit of club life. This relaxed social occasion offers the ideal opportunity to meet likeminded individuals while exploring a fresh and engaging take on the classic game of bridge. Whether you choose to come solo, with a partner, or with a guest, you will be warmly welcomed – and if you arrive on your own, you certainly won’t be alone.
Join us in the Marlborough Suite at 18:30, where you will be welcomed with a glass of wine before settling into an evening of cards, conversation, and good company. Midway through the event, sandwiches will be served, giving everyone a moment to pause, chat, and enjoy the easygoing atmosphere.
The format will be cut-in Chicago bridge – calling “table up” after every four hands and cutting for a new partner – encouraging a light‑hearted and unrushed approach to the game. With no money at stake, the focus remains firmly on enjoying the company of fellow members and the devilish challenge of making those elusive contracts. Fear not if you’ve forgotten how to keep score; help will be on hand from the RAC’s bridge director, Victor Lesk, who has kindly agreed to drop in from across the road.
For those wishing to make a night of it, a reduced weekend room rate is available for members and their guests, with the added pleasure of enjoying breakfast at the Club the following morning.
If you’d like to learn more about The Rag Bridge Circle or get involved, we’d love to hear from you. Please feel free to reach out to Rag member Fiona McNish at [email protected].
