Lunch with Prince Leka of Albania
Thursday 16th October | 12.00 for 12.30 | Drawing Room | £65.00
As the Crown Prince of Albania, His Royal Highness Prince Leka graduated from Sandhurst military academy. Today he heads Albania’s regal old House of Zog, with direct lineage to the last King Zog, Prince Leka’s grandfather who famously disregarded the Blitz and stayed for a while at the Ritz during the Second World War.
Join His Grace for a salon lunch when at the table he will share how, with a life of service ahead, Sandhurst shaped and equipped him for future challenge including advising, as he has done, Albanian governments when working with both the foreign and interiors ministries. Learn how he also assisted past presidents of his homeland and in general used his position to the best effect for the Albanian people.
Over lunch with Prince Leka, he will reflect on how he came into this world – actually far from home, as he was born in South Africa – and on returning to Albania embraced the life of a royal family member with a long and proud lineage. To be considered for discussion will be the pressure he feels to adapt with the times and serve in what is the best possible way for his loyal subjects. In all, a personal and unique insight into the challenges of being a European royal in the 21st century with an illustrious member of the current, titled generation joining members for lunch.
