The Samuel Pepys Club cordially invites their friends at the Army & Navy Club to join them for John Aubrey and Samuel Pepys: contrasting lives, afterlives and literary remains. A Talk given by Dr Ruth Scurr, followed by buffet lunch.

John Aubrey and Samuel Pepys knew each other in the context of the Royal Society. They had shared intellectual interests and circles of acquaintance, but contrasting personalities and approaches to posterity. This talk will explore questions that arise from thinking about the two men together. 

Dr Ruth Scurr (aka Lady Stothard)  is a writer, historian and literary critic. She is a Fellow of Gonville and Caius College Cambridge.
