With nights drawing in and the season to be jolly by this stage in the year only a month away, what is in your glass perhaps becomes a little bit more important. Amayès Aouli, who is the head of the auction house, Bonhams’ wine dealings all over the world, has the gift for being able to see beyond price and to consider instead value. In this Fireside Chat he will share his vast knowledge of the world of wine, what gems might be out there that are less fabled than the best-known bottles, and how prices can differ from value, as well as the direction of wine trends for the future.
After an hour of conversation by the Drawing Room fireplace, as is traditional for the Rag fireside chats, join a select group of members for supper with the evening’s guest, to continue the dialogue in the Coffee Room where points discussed earlier can be considered in even greater depth and new aspects of wine can become the subject of table talk, in the company of a renowned world expert.
