Exploring the West Coast of Scotland is one the finest experiences any sailor can have. Frustratingly, standard charts leave out much of the detail needed for close-in pilotage for those who want to really explore all this magnificent cruising ground has to offer.

Bob Bradfield has spent much of the past seventeen years, aboard his own boat Otter, surveying Scotland’s wild west coast. Having filled in many of the blank spaces, he’s published 850 charts of remote channels and anchorages and made them readily available through his digital Antares Charts (on either Apple or Android). He was awarded the MBE for this valuable work.

In his talk, Bob will tell of some of the standout and hidden places he has surveyed and will outline the best way to make use of your time sailing what is arguably the world’s finest cruising ground.
