Field Marshal (Nick) Houghton served as the UK’s Chief of Defence Staff from 2013 to 2016, following a distinguished operational career that included seven tours in Northern Ireland, command of the Belfast Brigade during the Good Friday Agreement, senior roles in Iraq, and service as Vice-Chief of the Defence Staff. He later became Constable of the Tower of London and a Crossbench Peer in the House of Lords. He remains active in defence and security technology, chairs Defence Holdings PLC, advises Blackstone, supports Service charities, and was appointed honorary Field Marshal in June 2025.
