Award-winning harpist Heather Brooks was named North and East London Young Musician of the Year in 2026 and received the Patricia Prindl Prize for Outreach from the Musicians’ Company. In 2025, she was awarded Silver Prize at the Seventh International Harp Competition in Hungary and First Prize at the UK Harp Competition.
She has performed as a soloist at the Barbican and Wigmore Hall, and has worked with the London Symphony Orchestra, English Touring Opera and Swedish Chamber Orchestra. Heather was selected for the harp position at the Encuentro de Música y Academia de Santander 2023 and London Sinfonietta Academy 2022–2023 and is an active chamber musician and member of Trio Farben.
Heather completed the Artists’ Masters programme at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Distinction, studying with Professor Imogen Barford and was a recipient of the Musicians’ Company David Goldman Award, awards from the Tillett, Colin Keer and Robert Bouffler Trusts, and a Government Music and Dance Scheme Scholarship to attend the Purcell School.’
Alexander is a freelance horn player who has played Guest Principal with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and Symphony Orchestra of India. Currently trialling for positions at the BBC Symphony Orchestra and English National Ballet Philharmonic, he also performs with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, London Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Royal Scottish National Orchestra. As a chamber musician, Alexander has featured in the Swindon Recital Series and has performed with Connaught Brass. Alongside his performance portfolio, Alexander enjoys his work as a composer and arranger. He has received commissions from the CBSO, Royal College of Music, and Young Musicians’ Symphony Orchestra. Alexander has also worked on productions for the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Helsinki and Texas Ballets, and Canadian National Ballet. Alexander trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where he was awarded The Lord Mayor’s Prize. He received a Master of Performance from the Royal College of Music, where he was a Musicians’ Company Lambert Scholar, and previously attended their Junior Department, receiving the Anthony Gray Horn Prize.

The Musicians’ Company Young Artists’ Programme
The Musicians’ Company Young Artists’ Programme was launched in 2000. Its aim is to nurture our outstanding award-winners during the vital first five years of their music careers and to enlist their talents to inspire a love of music for the next generation. The programme also offers people who do not have access to music through our participation projects. Young Artists are given the opportunity to perform at concerts and festivals throughout the UK, and build their communication, teaching and personal skills through professional development.
