Classical Rag Concert – Mother’s Day Special
Sunday 15th March at 11:30 | Smoking Room | £25.00
Following the success of our first Rag Concert of the year, we are delighted to present the second event in the 2026 series: a special Mother’s Day recital from acclaimed violinist Laure Chan, performed from the comfort of the Smoking Room.
Held just before Sunday Roast, this intimate concert offers a relaxed and welcoming start to your Mother’s Day, combining live music with a comfortable, informal setting – the perfect way to celebrate the occasion with family.
British Franco-Chinese violinist Laure Chan enjoys a varied international career as both soloist and ensemble player. She has performed throughout the UK, Europe, Asia and America in prestigious venues including the Royal Albert Hall, the Berlin Philharmonie, the Concertgebouw, Carnegie Hall and the Shanghai Oriental Arts Centre.
Hailed as a rising star by BBC Music Magazine and featured on Classic FM’s 30 Under 30 list, Laure was appointed Creative Project Development Artist in Residence at the 2025 Verbier Festival. Passionate about composition and cross-genre collaboration, she brings together her classical foundations with influences from multiple musical traditions and cultures. Her recordings include her debut album Tribute to Bach, and Schumann Violin Concerto, recorded at Abbey Road Studios, and she has recently appeared in Billboard’s Grammy Contenders Issue 2025 for her latest release.
A regular presence on national and international radio and television, and an Ambassador for the Benedetti Foundation, Laure is also deeply committed to musical education and creative development.
This special Rag Concert promises a relaxed morning of beautiful live music, showcasing the artistry and expressive sound of the violin – a lovely addition to your Mother’s Day celebration.
