Waterloo Dinner – Andrew Roberts, Baron Roberts of Belgravia

As has been tradition in the past, we will be commemorating the famous Battle of Waterloo by hosting a dinner in the Pall Mall Room. This year, we will welcome The Right Honourable The Lord Roberts of Belgravia as our Guest of Honour and Speaker. Members of The Rag are invited to join us for a welcome drinks reception in The Drawing Room, followed by a three-course dinner and an insightful talk from Lord Roberts on Napoleon and his marshals at Waterloo.
Lord Roberts has written twenty books which have been translated into twenty-eight languages and have won thirteen literary prizes. These include Churchill: Walking with Destiny, Napoleon: A Life, Masters and Commanders, The Storm of War: A New History of the Second World War, George III: The Life and Reign of Britain’s Most Misunderstood Monarch, and most recently Conflict: The Evolution of Warfare 1945 to Ukraine, which he co-authored with General David Petraeus. Lord Roberts is the Bonnie and Tom McCloskey Distinguished Visiting Fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University, where he hosts the podcast Secrets of Statecraft with Andrew Roberts – https://www.hoover.org/publications/secrets-statecraft-andrew-roberts – a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and the Royal Historical Society, and a visiting professor at the Department of War Studies at King’s College, London.
