Trafalgar Dinner
The Army and Navy Club proudly hosted its annual Trafalgar Dinner in the grand setting of the Pall Mall Room, a cherished tradition commemorating the historic Battle of Trafalgar. This year’s event was graced by Rear Admiral Nick Washer MA BSc FCMI CMgr as Guest of Honour, adding gravitas to an evening steeped in naval heritage. The night began with a welcome drinks reception in The Drawing Room, where members mingled amidst an atmosphere of camaraderie and anticipation.
The subsequent three-course dinner, served under the evocative gaze of Ballin’s Battle of Trafalgar painting series, was a fitting tribute to this pivotal moment in British maritime history. Rear Admiral Washer captivated attendees with his address, drawing on a distinguished naval career that has spanned senior operational roles across the globe, including the Gulf, Sierra Leone, and East of Suez, as well as key strategic appointments within Defence Digital and the Ministry of Defence.
The evening celebrated not only the legacy of Trafalgar but also the enduring excellence and service of the Royal Navy, leaving members with a profound sense of pride and a renewed appreciation for the traditions that bind the Rag together.
