Understanding the different types of caviar, such as Beluga, Osetra, Sevruga, and Sterlet, enhances their unique flavours and textures, leading to a more informed and enjoyable appreciation of this luxurious delicacy.

When it comes to finding the right wine pairing, sparkling wines like Champagne and Crémant, along with crisp, minerally whites like Chablis and Riesling, are often chosen to accompany this opulent food. In this masterclass the wines will be all English, encompassing a diversity of styles from traditional method sparkling rosé to fine white wines from Chardonnay, Bacchus and Ortega, chosen to complement the different and subtle styles of the caviar.

About the Speaker Khalid Dahbi

The greatest luxury is simplicity, and no one knows this better than Khalid Dahbi. The Moroccan-born chef, philanthropist & founder of luxury food and travel brands is known around the world for his culinary expertise. With access to exclusive locations and a story to match each of them, it’s no wonder he’s amassed an extraordinary list of clients.

After traveling through Europe and working in legendary restaurants in Italy and Switzerland, Khalid arrived in London where he worked with Gordon Ramsey at Claridge’s, Jamie Oliver, and Rhubarb food designs. He joined the Quintessentially Group in 2015, developing fine dining programs in and around the city.

In the same year he founded KD Luxury, his own brand of rare and highly prized food and beverages sourced from small producers around the world. He specializes in caviar and in keeping with the meaning of his own surname, edible gold. Through KD Luxury, Khalid organizes exclusive experiences around the world for his Celebrity & Royal clients, many of whom have become close friends.

 

Khalid’s passion for food is matched only by his commitment to charitable endeavors, which he continues to grow through partnerships and collaborative efforts around the world. The KD Foundation works alongside local charities in the UK and Morocco and in 2019 were a sponsor of Majesty’s Queen Elizabeth’s birthday events at the British embassy in Rabat, his home city. He is the co-Founder of the Kindred Network with Quintessentially founder Aaron Simpson, an online e commerce platform which donates a percentage of each purchase to participating charities.

His charitable efforts after the Grenfell Tower tragedy have been recognized internationally by foundations and patrons such as The Duke and Duchess of Sussex. In the wake of the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic Khalid devoted his time to feeding frontline workers and the homeless through his Together Thank You project, which held national campaigns in the UK and Morocco.
