Mess Dinners

The Army and Navy Club prides itself on offering a unique combination of the ambience traditionally found in an Officers’ Mess, effortlessly paired with the comfort and style of an exclusive establishment. Choose to host your next regimental dinner or officers’ luncheon at this historic Military Members Club and enjoy a Mess dinner in the heart of St. James’s in London.

Two catering packages are available, either a buffet-style lunch/dinner or a full-service dining option for a more formal gathering.

BUFFET PACKAGE

First Course 

  • Soup of the day
  • Chicken liver pâté with melba toast

 

Buffet Main Courses

  • Roast of the day (choose from pork, lamb or beef) with roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables and gravy
  • Club curry (choose from chicken or lamb) with rice and condiments

 

Dessert

  • Treacle tart
  • Cheese and biscuits

 

DINING PACKAGE

  • Private room hire of a suitable room for 3 hours
  • Cash bar on arrival
  • 3 course menu from options below
  • ½ bottle house wine

Please select one first course, one main course and one pudding for the group.

 

First courses

  • Poached trout, green beans, sorrel, soft boiled egg
  • Countryside pork terrine, parsley and pickled shallot salad
  • Leek and potato soup (V)
  • Tomato, mozzarella, basil salad (V)

 

Main courses

  • Whole roasted gammon, cabbage and carrots, new potatoes, parsley sauce
  • Baked fillet of hake, watercress and tomato salad, heritage potatoes, butter sauce
  • Roast rump of beef, Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables
  • Chicken and mushroom pie, petit pois, buttered new potatoes

 

Dessert

  • Dean’s treacle tart, raspberry ripple ice-cream
  • Seasonal mixed berry pavlova
  • Sherry and berry trifle
  • Apple tart, custard

We recommend the following additional extras to further enhance your military event:

  • Glass of house wine on arrival
  • Glass of Club Champagne on arrival
  • Glass of Club port
  • Selection of cheese and biscuits

 

Minimum guest numbers of 20 required. Package includes room hire for 3 hours, charges will apply for longer duration. Packages are not available in conjunction with any other offer(s). Prices include VAT. Subject to availability. Vegetarian and other special dietary requirements are catered for in addition to the group menu, as long as we are notified one week in advance. A cash bar can be arranged by prior notice. Plus 10% committee suggested gratuity to be added to the final account.
