The event has been created by an expert volunteer team, including Rag member David Pinchard, MD of Transformation-Leaders.com, and Falklands War Veteran and retired Para Lt. Colonel Philip Neame MBE, Co-Founder of The Ulysses Trust. There will be a special recorded message from Trust Patron HRH The Prince of Wales to begin proceedings, as well as insights from war photographer, Paul Conroy.

Join us to find out more about this unique charity and how it supports reservists and cadets, hear the fascinating story of war photographer and best-selling author Paul Conroy, meet some of the cadets whose lives have been transformed through expeditions and learn how you can help the next generation access and benefit from these opportunities.

SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKER
Paul Conroy, War Photographer

Paul is an experienced freelance photographer, filmmaker and former soldier who has worked as a journalist in some of the most dangerous parts of the world including the Balkans, the Middle East, and Libya. The Trust’s founding father, current Vice Chairman and Falklands War veteran, Lt Col Philip Neame MBE, will be interviewing Paul and swapping anecdotes in what promises to be an eye-opening discussion.

This talk will be of particular interest to those Rag members who have served in, or know of the work of the Army Cadet Force (ACF) and the Air Training Corps (ATC). We will hear some of the cadets’ impressive stories and see footage from a selection of expeditions supported by the Trust following Paul Conroy’s talk.

‘That sense of achievement when you climb to the top of a mountain you’re like “oh wow I really did this” or you know when you go to a jungle you’re like “Really? I’m in an actual jungle!”‘

‘I remember drinking some water from a waterfall and it was the best water I’ve ever tasted.’

‘Cadets has definitely given me massive amounts of confidence and I’ve become a leader. I’m not just a team member, but I’m able to lead a team now by myself, and that’s something that the seven-year-old me with no confidence and not even any English probably wouldn’t have thought I could do.’
