Queen Victoria riding her horse Lucy
A favourite for many of the Members, this full size portrait shows Queen Victoria at the age of 28, riding her horse Lucy. In the background is Windsor Castle and in the distance a cavalry review, where one of the riders is an elderly Duke of Wellington.The portrait was painted by the renowned artist Sir Francis Grant, who was President of the Royal Academy from 1866 to 1878.
On a recent visit to the club, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II greatly admired this work of her ancestor.
